Erland of Lavik
(a.k.a. "The True Griffin")
Born to a Skalmarkeldan raider and raised as a bastard-born shiphand, Erland finished his Trials at a very young age. Both of his brothers and his sister were also subjected to the Trials, and though all lived it was with varying degrees of success. Erland was by far the most successful.
Erland always strove to uphold the defunct Order's knightly values, putting his integrity as a man and witcher above petty insults and politics. When the previous Grandmaster died, Erland stepped up to take his place, and instilling new values into the Griffin school.
Under his watchful eye, Griffins were taught honor and discipline, as well as swordplay. Manners and Court behavior as well as spells.
Author of 'A Witcher's Journal', a comprehensive guide to monsters and political play still used by most schools today, and the adoptive father of Raven, the witcher who would go on to found the Raven School, Erland is very well known.
