Clint's Caravan
A group of adventurers joined together by the Merchant, Clint Greenwald, who have been travelling together since the Aldrestian Capital.
In Gran Rhydrias, the bustling capital of the Aldrestian Empire, a chance meeting between two down-on-their-luck Aldrestians of Elven-blood will redirect their lives and, potentially, the lives of all those that call Velaria their home.
Zeph, a half-eleven sorcerer, has run into some trouble. On his first day in the city, his gambling addiction managed to get the better of him, and his losses were catastrophic. This stint of poor luck has placed him into the debt of Montague Valerio, a mob boss and leader of the Valerio Crime Family, a group that respectable people would never wish to associate themselves with.
Using the talents available to him, Zeph attempted to pay off the debt by performing magical acts for the public, sadly, his attempts proved fruitless. Destitute, homeless and with the mob breathing down his neck, Zeph decided now would be the best time to leave the city. His attempts to remain inconspicuous, however, were fumbled when he bumped into Viggo, a half-orc enforcer in the employ of Montague. In his attempts to escape, Zeph crashed into a woman.
The woman in question was Vesta, a High-Elven rogue. Vesta had made a name for herself in the underworld as a capable pickpocket, burglar and saboteur. Her exploits had gained the notice of the Valerio Crime Family and when the famous thief found herself in Gran Rhydrias they immediately set about recruiting her into their operation. Vesta completed various assignments for the gang, working alongside various members throughout, including the enforcer Viggo.
But it was Vesta's final assignment from the gang that would land her in hot water. The Valerio family had started a blood feud with a rival gang, in retribution for the killing of some of Montague's men, the mob boss wanted Vesta to kill the young heir to their rival's leader. Vesta was hesitant to carry out the task, but she knew that disobedience would lead to her death. However, upon learning that the heir was a young child, Vesta decided that she would need to leave the city immediately.
After ensuring that the rival gang knew of Montague's intentions, Vesta set about fleeing the city. Using her skills to remain inconspicuous, she made her way through the city streets, heading for the northern gate. The collision with the Half-Elven sorcerer put an end to that plan.
With her face exposed, Zeph's pursuers, who were aware of her betrayal, immediately recognised her. Without much time to think, the pair took off together, running through alleys and dodging through crowds. Once they had cleared the sight of their pursuers, Vesta had the bright idea of hiding in a merchant's wagon.
The merchant, a dwarven man, spotting the two diving into his cart, decided to provide some assistance. He redirected the gang members, sending them off in the wrong direction before introducing himself to the pair as Clint. In a nearby tavern, Clint made an offer to the pair, for his return journey to his home in Regensthall, he would need able bodies to assist during the journey, persons who would be able to defend his wares from attack and maybe to help him distribute or purchase more wares. The pair, without anywhere else to go, agreed.
On the road north, the pair of Aldrestians would encounter another, whose journey would impact all of their lives. The Wood Elven druid, Dank, was running low on luck. Since the attack on his people, he had made the difficult decision to leave his home for the first time in search of answers. Along the way, however, his trusting nature had landed him in some bother. Hungry and with low morale, Dank stumbled upon a broken-down caravan, his experiences thus far had made him wary of strangers, but his kind nature urged him on to provide whatever help he could to the stranded travellers.
Dank introduced himself to the group. The merchant, Clint, welcomed him openly and provided the Elf with some food and pleasant conversation. After explaining his reasons for travelling, Clint imparted some information regarding similar attacks occurring in his home country, Dank regained his resolve, finding hope in the information he has learn and decided to join the group on their journey to Gothia.
The group arrived at the town of Wuulfrend following their journey through the Dolau Pass. They found beds and warm food in The Kingfisher Inn. During their first evening in town, they encountered the Xenophobic farmer, Bruno Wolf, who attempted to antagonise the group but was unsuccessful in creating a fight.
The following day, the group became acquainted with the Bard Ricardo the Fantastical, who requested assistance in wooing the Swordstress Francesca. The group failed to obtain information about the swordstress but Vesta managed to convince Francesca to fight the bard. The Swordstress and the Bard met that evening but Francesca made it very clear that she was not romantically interested in the bard, heartbroken by this rejection, Zeph convinced Ricardo that the story of unrequited love would make a good ballad.
The group also assisted the Guard Captain, Stefan, with a cat problem in the barracks. The group rehomed the cats at a local farm.
On their journey south, the group was accosted by Bruno Wolf and a gang of thugs. They were, however, no match for Clint's Caravan with the assistance of Francesca, with the leader, Bruno, being engulfed in flames by the Sorcerer Zeph.
After this conflict, the group bid their farewells to Francesca and continued on their journey south to the Gothian city of Regensthall.
After arriving in the Forest of Rhone, the caravan made camp alongside the road. Zeph, Vesta and Dank were asked by Clint to go and search for the missing members, Louis and Franz.
Further down the road, the party encountered The Defenders of Wuulfrend engaging in combat with a group of bandits, led by Louis and Franz. The party assisted the Defenders in their fight.
After defeating their foes, the two groups joined together and returned to the caravan camp.
