Out of the Fire
General Summary
This story begins within a cage, Forge , Blackwolf , Dave The Well Meaning but Generally Confused, Sticksnap , and Amara had been captured by Witch Hunters of The Redalian Empire. While inside the above mentioned adventurers met a few villagers under the rule of the kingdom of Forten and an Ealdorman by the name of Lovansky Lavro. The Witch Hunter Captain Stanech was preparing the Pyre to burn the prisoners when he received a message by magical means and called half of his force to travel back to Deepstone. Shortly after the force was cut in half the adventurers tried to escape there cage. A few attempted to squeeze through the bars, Sticksnap being the only to succeed. While the adventurers were attempting their escape a group of Green Hoods loosed volleys of arrows at the Witch Hunters. Some adventurers attempted to break down the gate of the cage, Forge being the one to succeed after entering a rage. The Green Hoods quickly dispatched the Witch Hunters and approached the prisoners. After a quick interrogation the prisoners were free to go, Lavro was taken prisoner by the Green Hoods to be ransomed back to Gungrad.
The adventurers traveled back to the nearby town of Gungrad with the two villagers, Eadwulf and Sara. They vouched for the adventurers at the gate and the town guard let them in. Giving them all a free night within a local tavern. The heroes took respite at the Heroes' Inn, the rag tag group looking rather out of place in comparison to their normal tenants. While staying their Forge was looking for more work. Talking to Nestek, the owner of The Heroes' Inn and a retired adventurer himself, Forge discovered a few leads. A Village to the south is unable to use its well which is being plagued by some sort of foul ghoul and an Initiate of the Norfree school of the Natalia Hunter's Guild is looking for aid in slaying some monsters that turned his four companions to stone.
In the morning the adventurers headed out together to slay these monsters with Yuryev, the Norfree Initiate. They discovered the the Hunter's were tasked with slaying a nest of Cocktratices. The four hunters had been eaten while still in stone form, leaving rubblesque statues in their wake. The party managed to get the jump on the monsters and managed to slay them before being turned to stone themselves. After slaying the creatures the heroes headed back to Gungrad. Yuryev paid them the reward he and his group would have received and headed back north the the Norfree school with the amulets of his comrades.
