Rake
The Rake Theocracy is a major political power in the western edge of Akus. Rake was one of the first political powers to form during the Akian collapse seceding during the initial months of the event. The Rake felt that the people of Akus had abandoned the proper worship of the High Wilds, and formed the Theocracy as a means of holding back the great Tides of Chaos.
Structure
The Rake Theocracy has a rigid class hierarchy, defined by the religious significance of one's job. The class system is made up of eight tiers, with each tier having a type of priest who's job is to lead the people of their tier in religious activities. It is considered heretical for someone of a higher class to perform religious ceremonies with someone of a lower class.

Culture
The People of Rake vary greatly in culture between each of the classes that make up it's society. The members of the higher classes are deeply ingrained in the church of High wilds, and devote a great deal of their time and money towards religious activities. As moving up the ladder of priesthood is effectively the only form of social mobility, the members of the church are often brutally ambitious, showing zealous devotion towards spreading the faith. Most of the lower class however, simply keep their heads down, attending religious ceremonies out of obligation.
History
Formation and Early History
Shortly before the Collapse of the Akian kingdom, many were starting to see the cracks growing in the waning country. Wild Tides were appearing across the continent, ruining and isolating cities and entire sections of the kingdom. Whispers began appearing, that the Tides were a result of the abandonment of the Old faith, when the wilds themselves were worshiped before the Sorcerer King appeared. It was during this time that the Church of High Wilds was formed, and with the kingdoms hands full dealing with the Tides, the church began to grow unchecked. Eventually the church grew to such a size, it's control of the major cities strong enough, that it was able to break off from the Akian kingdom, forming it's own country, Rake. Shortly after this, Akia collapsed. But Rake was prepared for this, and was able to hold it's territories while chaos claimed much of the northern continent.
