Kiara the Lucky

Kiara is the most recent resident of Siógamhór to attain the title of Lucky, specifically for the purpose of attending the Summit at the Oasis of Peace. In spite of, or even because of, her youth, she is usually certain of herself and her intentions, but has a bit of trouble expressing them. She isn't quite as sure of the intentions of those around her, but she's quite eager to learn.

Description

Kiara is a skinny little nip of a thing, all wings and limbs and joints. Her chitin shines a beautiful aquamarine color, matching the pale blue of her eyes. She usually wears a simple blue dress and, around her neck, a Promise Pearl - a gift from a friend, and a visual representation of her honesty and trustworthiness. She hopes to earn many more.

History

Kiara was born in 21 NA, one of many nymphs in the Dreaming Pool of a small settlement of Siógamhór. Her Pool was guarded by a Sorrowful Dreamer, and she absorbed their emotions and values like a sponge. She spent her days flitting about the pool, splashing and playing with her fellow nymphs, until one glorious day two years ago, her wings were finally strong enough to lift her out of the Pool and allow her to discover the wonders of the surface world.

Once she was out, Kiara quickly developed a talent for storytelling, listening to as many as she could and finding ways to repeat them herself to her friends, both old and new. She wouldn't interrupt or add her own opinion. She would listen intently to every story she heard, then think as hard as she could about what it really meant. Of course, there were so many stories to listen to, so she hasn't spent quite as much time thinking about them as she'd really like to./p]

When the Grand Pool was announced, Kiara entered her own name. She'd heard legends, stories of the outsiders, and she wanted so desperately to hear their stories from their own voices. When her name was announced, Kiara felt nervous to leave her home for the very first time, but that was eclipsed by the possibility of far more stories to come.

Present

Kiara is by far the youngest and most inexperienced representative at the Grand Summit, but her heart is true and she knows emotions when she sees them. Unlike some of the other leaders, she doesn't try to hide her intentions or be duplicitous. She just wants everybody to be friends and listen to each other. She's even nominated a close friend and another good listener (at least for an akitu) to the Executioner's War Council. She knows he'll do a good job.
