The Bright Pantheon

The Bright Pantheon is the official religion of the Merchant Principality of Fortuna. While it is primarily a human centered religion, those non-humans that have come to call Fortuna home have found themselves offering prayers and homage to the Builder from time to time. Although the Fortunans believe that the Brights lost their divinity following the calamity, it does not mean they are without power. The 12 Gods that make up the pantheon reside in their constellations, and can still be moved to lend Celestial aid to their followers.    The Gods   Vincorious the Builder
“The All-Father called forth all life, molded it in his hands, and handed it to Theodosius to be forged.” ~High Priest Antagoras, Wisdom of the Temple-Keepers Vol. I
Not much is known of Vincorious’s origins or how he was capable of wielding such power. What is known is that the All-Father weaved the tapestry of reality from the primal energies and brought forth existence as we all know it. First he created a companion, a partner, a brother. Theodosius the Builder. With Vincorious as the blacksmith, Theodosius the hammer, and reality the anvil, the two of them crafted into existence all that is seen and unseen. The great capital is one of the last remnants of this paradise. A populated museum that still emanates the primal energy of its makers.   Vincorious had several children with some of his creation, and one of them was named Fortuna, who eventually came to create the Princedom as we know it. Theodosius, drunk with the power he was capable of wielding, grew jealous of Vincorious, and formed his own shadow pantheon with his children. A great war was waged across the planet, resulting in Vincorious depriving all the celestials of their deifying power, and with his last vestige of might, cast Theodosius and his brood into their End.   While he is no longer a god, his memory and name is honored as the one who breathed life into all, and protected creation from one bent on destroying it.   His constellation is known as “The Father.”   Fortuna    Adventurer. Captain. Demigod. Fortuna was one of the first humans to be born with celestial blood pumping in her veins. Renowned for her beauty and her resolve, she was a popular figure in the pantheon.   During the Celestial War, she was a cunning general for her father, Vincorious, and delivered many blows to Theodious’s forces. Following the war during the Great Collapse, she lead her chosen people to the sea to protect them from the elemental chaos. She ruled over them for three centuries, leading them in a war against Dagon, a mysterious primal entity hidden below the waves. She died in heroic combat against Dagon, saving her son from certain doom at the cost of her life.   Her constellation is “The Lady”, and from the sky her bright stars guides her people into a bright future.
