Human
Humans are the youngest of the common races, late to arrive on the world scene and short-lived in comparison to most other races. Whatever drives them to achieve as much as they can in their time, humans are the innovators and the pioneers of the worlds.
Humans have widely varying tastes, morals, and customs in the many lands where they have settled. When they settle, though, they stay: they build cities to last for the ages, and great kingdoms that can persist for centuries. Individually and as a group, humans are adaptable opportunists, and they stay alert to changing political and social dynamics. They also often welcome other races into their vast lands.
Humans who seek adventure are the most daring and ambitious members of a daring and ambitious race: They seek to earn glory in the eyes of their fellows by amassing power, wealth, and fame.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
With their penchant for migration and conquest, humans are more physically diverse than other common races; an individual can stand from 5 feet to a little over 6 feet tall and weigh from 125 to 250 pounds, human skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to blonde (curly, kinky, or straight males might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Because of their few years, humans, to other races, go about their lives alarmingly quick. Every day is structured and every year carefully counted.
Given the way human societies rapidly change, there is less of an importance on family time and steady skill development and more on rapid, individual progress. From a young age, most human children are taught basic life skills and are encouraged to test them out on their own as they approach adulthood, breeding a great number of adventurers - and if not the adventuring type, often innovators and great leaders.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
With shorter lifespans than most races, humans have had more time to expand both their families and kingdoms. Conquering at least part of every continent and physically diverse, humans are more recognizable not by appearance but by culture, of which they have nurtured quite a few.
