-Last known words of Torgrim Frostbeard, Dwarven prospector. The Red Hills, also known as the Red Hills of Rostan, are a set of foothills that butt up against the Shieldrange mountains. Known for their distinctive red-tinged soil, the Hills are known to be a rich source of gold, silver, and other precious metals. They are also known for their population of Red Dragons, who guard the unearthed riches of the hills jealously. Mining camps in the Hills are either well-guarded against attack, or too far away from the hills properly to attract too much draconic attention. Many fortune seekers have gone to the Hills and, instead of gold, found themselves only dragonfire. Legends claim that Argonax, the Ancient Red Dragon driven from what is now the city of Rostan by old Ironhand himself, made his lair in the red hills centuries ago, but expeditions into the hills have thus far failed to find any such lair, much to the relief of the common people of the city.
