There are 2 Overgods which can be worshipped but will not grant any divine powers to their followers. They are too big to care for mortals and do not need worship to retain power.
There are 24 Greater Gods, 68 Lesser Gods, and 20 Demi-Gods at this current time. All of these gods require worshippers in order to retain power, and they reward their followers with divine powers. Greater and Lesser Gods were always gods since their creation in this universe. Demi-Gods were once mortal who ascended to divinity.
Gods have many names and many are just aspects of another god. The gods may present themselves differently to different groups of creatures to maximise worship or because it suits them to do this. For example, Tempus, the god of war, presents himself differently to a lot of different races. Tempus cares little for which side he is on, he only cares that conflict be resolved through strength of arms and battle prowess.
The gods are organised into pantheons based on the worship from particular groups of creatures. The Demi-Gods do not feature in any pantheons.
