In the skies above Vanthelia, where resonance winds thread through mountains and clouds hum with the memory of ancient songs, the Skywalkers reign. Neither mount nor mere beast, these majestic creatures are living extensions of the world's harmonic flow—offering flight only to those who can truly attune their souls.

Nature and Essence

Skywalkers are vast, winged beings formed of flesh woven with resonance. Their bodies shimmer subtly under sunlight, revealing threaded patterns of living frequencies just beneath their skin—like rivers of light moving within muscle and bone. Their wings, broad and luminous, catch ambient natural frequencies, allowing them to glide upon the invisible currents of Vanthelia’s sky.

They are not bred or raised—they are born from convergence points where strong Natural Frequencies meet the open sky. Skywalkers are as much soul-phenomena as they are living beings, and no two are ever exactly alike in color, tone, or presence.

Bonding and Flight

Traveling by Skywalker is not a matter of ownership or simple training. These creatures choose their riders based on resonance compatibility—specifically, the rider's ability to harmonize emotionally, spiritually, and instinctively with the Skywalker’s soul-tone.

Before flight can occur:

• The rider must achieve a harmonic link, often requiring days of mutual observation, meditation, and resonance exposure.
• Once the bond is sensed, the Skywalker will invite the rider to step onto its back, and only then will the journey begin.

During flight, the rider must maintain soul resonance with the creature:

• A calm, attuned soul allows for smooth, effortless soaring.
• Disruption, fear, or emotional imbalance can break the harmonization, causing the Skywalker to land—or in rare cases, vanish mid-air, leaving the rider grounded (and unharmed).

Flying with a Skywalker is described not as riding, but as "singing the sky into motion."

Roles in Vanthelia

Skywalkers serve many subtle but important roles:

• Sacred Pilgrimages: Transporting Tonebearers, Chordkeepers, and other soul-attuned travelers to sacred sites, often during Rites or Flare Alignments.
• Resonance Patrols: Used by SH Academy’s elite students and some resonance guardians to quickly traverse regions where frequency disturbances are detected.
• Sky Ceremonies: Rare rituals are performed midair between bonded pairs, weaving resonant patterns into the clouds themselves—visible only to those with Soul Sight.

Their presence in any region is a sign that the air itself is in balance, as Skywalkers will not remain in places thick with dissonance or corruption.

Skywalker Variants

Though all Skywalkers share the gift of resonant flight, subtle types exist:

• Mistwings: Smaller, swifter Skywalkers adapted for foggy or high-altitude zones.
• Sunveil Skywalkers: Creatures that glow faintly with Solar Resonance, often appearing during Flare Alignments.
• Stormcallers: Massive, deep-toned Skywalkers attuned to thunderous frequencies—rare and revered as omens of change.

Cultural Significance

Skywalkers are deeply respected across Vanthelia. They are seen not merely as creatures, but as symbols of soul freedom, trust, and the deep harmonization between self and world.

Among the Mythsung, it is said:

"When the sky sings, the Skywalkers come. When the soul sings back, the world lifts you beyond the horizon."

Bonding with a Skywalker is considered a life-marking event—equivalent in spiritual weight to a Rite of First Resonance or becoming Crystalbound.
