SH Academy Structure

SH Academy is more than a boarding school—it is a harmonically aligned institution that nurtures magical growth, spiritual clarity, and the responsibility of resonant power. Its internal structure is designed to provide both individual refinement and collaborative learning through balance, discipline, and connection.

Entry Process

Admission to SH Academy is open to all ages and does not require a prior understanding of magic. Prospective students must undergo an entry evaluation, typically involving:

  • A resonance stability test
  • Initial soul clarity check
  • Optionally, the Rite of First Resonance, conducted at the Academy itself

Applicants may be self-submitted or referred by local Tonebearers, Keepers, or resonance-sensitive institutions.

Tracks of Study

Students may pursue one of several resonance tracks, which shape their educational focus. While most students follow a primary track, it is possible—under the guidance of a faculty mentor—to enroll in a dual-track path. This is especially common when a student's frequency category naturally complements both fields (e.g., a student with Forged Resonance may follow both the Combat Resonance and Artifice tracks).

Available tracks include:

  • Rite and Resonance – For students focused on harmonization, Rites, and spiritual connection
  • Combat Resonance – For those preparing to defend against magical beasts, Fractured, or frequency threats
  • Creature Care and Preservation – Focused on harmonics-based wildlife care, Familiars bonding, and resonance healing
  • Artifice and Frequency Craft – Includes Artifacts creation, crystal work, and frequency-attuned forging
  • Resonance Theory and Research – A path for scholars, archivists, and those studying frequency categorization and lore

Each student’s curriculum is customized to their Soul Frequency Category and personal resonance needs.

SH Academy Academic Progression

Academy Schedule for each year and track.

Year 1: Foundation Year (General Classes Only)

All first-year students focus solely on core magical education to build resonance discipline, understand Vanthelia’s harmonic system, and prepare for soul categorization and track selection.

No elective tracks or specialization yet.

Year 2 and Beyond: Track Selection & Focus

At the start of Year 2, students formally choose a primary track (with the option of a dual-track later, if their frequency and mentor permit). Track-specific classes will take up most of their schedule, supplemented by advanced general electives.

Class Load Structure for Year 2+

  • 3–5 classes from their selected track
  • 1–3 advanced general electives (optional)
  • Optional: Assigned field activities, rites, team missions, or familiar training (varies by track)

Team Structure

All students entering the combat or field application tracks are placed in Teams of Four:

  • Grouped by resonance and personal compatibility
  • Teams work together in rites, training, mission simulations, and bonding experiences
  • Known for fostering deep friendships and resonance alignment

Team-based training is critical for fieldwork where soul harmony and emotional synchronization are vital.

Dormitories

Student dormitories are located in twin towers and organized by one or both:

  • Age group (to ensure developmental balance)
  • Team assignment (allowing teams to live near each other)

Each student’s dorm room is resonance-attuned during their first week. This ensures the space harmonizes with their Soul Frequency, providing a calming and reflective environment.

Shared lounges, meditation nooks, and outdoor resonance balconies promote both solo introspection and team bonding.

Faculty and Governance

  • The school is led by a Crystalbound Chordkeepers, one of the few in all of Vanthelia
  • Faculty includes Tonebearers, resonance specialists, and category-aligned guides
  • Some instructors are former field practitioners or harmonic researchers

Several instructors also reside on campus in the Faculty Quarters, making them accessible for mentorship.

Uniform Customization System at SH Academy

Every student wears the core uniform, which includes:

  • Sleeveless tunic with high collar and brass fastenings
  • Deep indigo resonance sash and cloak
  • Symbol badge on the left chest (Soul Frequency Category)
  • Track badge on the sash (Study Focus)

Category Badge (Chest)

  • Displays the symbol of the student’s Soul Frequency category
  • Color of the symbol may subtly shift with harmonic growth
  • Can glow faintly during rites or resonance surges
  • Worn over the heart to represent the resonance within

Track Badge (Sash)

  • A smaller, polished disk attached to the resonance sash
  • Displays the track sigil or simplified glyph (e.g., crossed quill for Research, stylized flame/sword for Combat, etc.)
  • Color-coded by track:
  • Silver = Rite & Resonance
  • Red = Combat Resonance
  • Green = Creature Care
  • Bronze = Artifice
  • Blue = Theory & Research

Academic Year Structure

  • The year is divided into three trimesters, each lasting three months, followed by a one-month harmonic break
  • Major rites are conducted at the beginning and end of each year
  • Students typically attend SH Academy for four to six years, depending on when they enroll and their chosen frequency path
  • Advanced students may remain longer for Rite specialization or familiar mastery

Annual Cycle Example:

  • Resonance Term (Spring)Rite of Resonance, introduction to soul tuning
  • Balance Term (Summer) – Combat and field trials, familiar bonding season
  • Reflection Term (Autumn) – Research, harmonization, and preparation for deeper rites
  • Harmony Break (Winter) – A month of rest, self-study, or pilgrimage

SH Academy is more than structure—it is an ecosystem of resonance. With its blend of tailored learning, spiritual growth, team unity, and magical precision, the school shapes not only mages, but harmonic stewards of Vanthelia’s unfolding melody.
