Shadefield
Stay on the roads.
Home to the Aruvian capitol and neighbour to both the Ghostfog Hills and the Great Siyorin forest. Shadefield is a land of scattered and forgotten roads, overgrown fields and strange sightings. Most travelers avoid any paths straying from The Old Empire Road, but many adventurers seek hospitality among the hardy folk who make it their home, or seek treasure and forgotten relics amongst the ruins.
Geography
Shadefield is primarily the breadbasket of the Aruvian empire, and as such is home to great many fields, as well as grazing for livestock. Living in the shadow of the Pillars, the region gets its name. Most of the rivers found in Shadefield springs from the Pillars through Siyorin forests, bringing with it whatever magicks that allows the forest to defy the seasons. This is how, despite notoriously short days, the aruvians can work the soil.
Fauna & Flora
Hunting in Aruvia is a national pasttime, and the Shadefields provide ample opportunity. Like most Aruvian fauna, and even flora, the creatures of Shadefield usually fight back. Poisonous plants or roaming packs of werewolves makes Shadefield a dangerous place to hunt, but Aruvians would have it no other way. Despite Barrow's own policy on allowing the stranger denizens of Vangard access to living inside the city, many creatures make their home on the outskirts, and even entire communes of hags and stranger things reside in Shadefield.
Natural Resources
The farming villages of Shadefield provides most of the grains and livestock for the capitol, and in return, the traveling judges and hunters of Barrow make their rounds in the area. Some trade is facilitated between the druids of the Siyorin and even the reclusive Amberheart dwarves sometimes make their way across Shadefield. Leather, oil, bone and fat from the dangerous creatures of the region are sold all the way from Vistain to the Ephemeral Bazaar
