Khaldai

Khaldai is the largest city in Raqis. It is built into the impossibly steep Qa'dran Canyon, with a massive stone wall separating the city from the rest of the desert. Buildings are both built into the canyon walls, and carved from them. Natural stone bridges arch throughout the canyon. Because the city does not get much sunlight, there are tunnels carved to the surface of the canyon with mirrors to bring sunlight into homes. There are also mirrors throughout the city to help illuminate things. People ride large canyon lizards throughout the city, leaping from wall to wall at times. On the ground floor, a bustling market scene takes place at all hours. Khaldai was founded by humans, but is also home to Yuan-Ti, Centaurs, Goliaths and Oreads.
