Creation/Godwar

In the beginning, Kalahira created the oceans. She then gave birth to Qa. Qa pulled the lands from the sea, and sculpted it to his liking. Kalahira and Qa then brought forth the other gods, Resh, Tovus, Arashu, Kihone, and Jahar. Resh crafted lush jungles, verdant forests, and grassy plains, and created the sun to nourish them. Arashu gave her breath to the world, causing rain to fall and the seas to churn. Kihone retreated away from the others to the far north of the world, working in secret on things hidden and unknown. Jahar, meanwhile, was given the task of bringing darkness to the world when Resh and the others needed to rest. Over time the rest of the lesser deities came to life, finding their own place in this new world, a new entity forming whenever the need arose.   Kalahira and Qa wanted to create life forms to live on this world, but argued on what form that life should take. Resh worked with Kalahira to create the beasts and untamed creatures that roam the wilds, while Tovus and Qa created all of the sentient races that formed civilizations across the world. Eventually, the people and creatures of the land grew too numerous, and Jahar was once again given the unpleasant task of ending their life and ferrying them to the undersea where Kalahira would look over them.   As the eons went on and civilization progressed, Jahar grew resentful of his role. He snuck into Kalahira's domain at the depths of the sea and stole the souls of the departed, raising an army to bear against those who had wronged him. Kihone joined him in his efforts, feeling that Jahar had been wronged. The other gods joined forces against his treachery, and a great Godwar ensued. The people of the land were frightened, but eventually joined the fighting, picking sides and causing divides between them. The Godwar raged for untold eons, causing untold death and destruction, until finally, as a last ditch effort, Qa prepared a mighty blow to destroy Jahar. However, Kihone jumped forward, pushing Jahar out of the way, taking the hit. Her body was shattered, sending shards of crystal all over the world. The Shattering of Kihone released all the magic she had control of into the world, centered around the crystals, which would come to be known as Godshards.   Qa was immediately regretful, and the two sides ended their fighting. Jahar was banished to the deepest levels of the underworld for his transgressions, and a mortal hero, Iridus, was raised to godhood to take over as the bringer of death.
