Adela
Adela was a Polish girl from a poor farm prior to coming to Venice. Her parents sold her labor to a pale man who kept her as one would a pet. They traveled at night, and during the day he would disappear into his wagon, leaving her to contend with his men. She was seven. When the men came for her, she ran. She has passed through many employments in the years since, and has become a passable servant, before being taken in at the inn.
