Difficulty to Dominate
Whenever an opponent targets your character with an unwanted social action intended to override their free will or to use logic to change their mind, they must roll their dice pool against the difficulty of your character's To Dominate rating. For your opponent to succeed in manipulating your character rationally, one or more of their rolled dice must equal or exceed your character's To Dominate rating. The higher the number of your character's To Dominate rating, the harder it is for opponents to influence their thinking or over come their free will. The Difficulty to Dominate rating is calculated by adding 4 to your character's Conscience score usually resulting in a number between 5 and 9. The value of the Difficulty to Dominate rating can also be temporarily modified up or down depending on player actions or situation circumstances. The maximum Difficulty To Dominate rating a character may achieve is 10, while the lowest Difficulty to Dominate rating is 3. The relationship between Domination and Conscience is that your character's Conscience rating represents a cognitive belief that certain things are right and wrong. Characters with a high Conscience rating have already logically concluded what lines they will and won't cross, so attempts to dominate them (either with logical reasoning or supernatural coercion) are more likely to fail.
A Character that has been successfully Dominated via natural means like the use of the Persuasion ability, may opt to spend a Willpower Point to resist acting on the unwanted idea for the remainder of the scene as they simply will themselves to not accept the new data and arguments before them. A Character that has been successfully Dominated via supernatural means like the use of the Edict Power may expend a Willpower point to resist the effects of a mind controlling power for one round. The reprieve from mind control is temporary and can only be maintained for a number of rounds that the Character is willing to expend Will Power Points fighting (maximum 10 rounds). Once the player is depleted of Willpower or opts not to expend any more Willpower resisting, the domination power takes over and they must perform the action they were being compelled to do.
