The Northern Wastes is a region far to the north of Kos. It's a large continent surrounded by a large and nearly impenetrable mountain range. The area is well known to the people who live in the northern part of Kos, but further south, it's largely a mystery. Fierce winds come off of mountains and across the ocean bringing freezing cold temperatures. The people who live in the north worship Felthog, the spirit of the northern winds. There are some expeditions to try and break through the mountain range. The most recent expedition was the Ganeros-Lisois Expedition where they took a specially built ship Hankura north about three years ago but never returned.
