WORKING ON   The NNC is the multinational body which oversees maritime trade and industries in the northernmost region of Kos.   The Northern Nautical Confederation is an economic alliance of three countries located in the northern part of Kos that controls the area around the Bilhalas Sea. They currently serve a major governmental role in the region dictating laws and customs around maritime trade and industries. The Confederation is run by representatives from both the member state governments and the major companies. While each member state is understood to be sovereign, laws set in place by the Confederation must be adhered to. In particular, they play an active role in the fishing and whaling industries. Formally, the government has no alliance with the temples to the Sea Mother, but the opinions of the priestesses is highly valued. Each member state has its own currency and is in full control over that, but there are laws in place around the acceptable exchange rates between currencies. Internationally, the Confederation is seen as a very stable organization. They have offices in each member state, and the main legislators move annually between the member states for equal representation. They don't have a formal military of their own and rely on their member states to form an alliance. The companies who are involved in the Confederation all control their own fleets of ships. They create laws that favor them as well as other companies, and it is the role of the state representatives to curb private interests. In Kealriv, there are many laws in place to restrict the reach of private companies, but no such laws exist in Deejs. There are courts which ensure that laws are followed. The rulings of these courts are respected by all member states. There is a panel of five judges who have to reach a majority vote for the ruling.
