Matchmakers are typically single or widowed women who assist single people in their communities with making the best match for a partner. They are regulated by the Double Hearts Association and work closely with the priestesses of Larena. For a modest fee, they will sit down with anyone looking for love and conduct an interview that typically lasts 1-2 hrs. Afterwards, the matchmaker will review her other files on single people and may suggest two people to meet up. She also opens her house to use as a neutral first meeting place. There is also a list with other matchmakers of eligible people, so she can be aware of potential matches in other cities or provinces. Some matchmakers also offer more personalized coaching for getting a date or how to behave in various situations. They may also host events for single people to come and get to know each other organically.
