Horses are large quadroped mammals which are commonly used as beasts of burden. There are many different breeds of horse in Valtena. Horses were created by Ateus as a wedding gift for Menaan. They are also related to Pegasi. Horses can be classified as breeds and each breed belongs to a group. There are heavy breeds which are used for pulling, riding horses, war horses, heavy ponies and light ponies, sport horses which are often a cross between heavy and riding breeds, stock horses, and cobs. Most countries have their own breeds and breed registeries which keep track of stud and dam lines. Horses are very common and useful throughout the world. They are also revered by centaurs, and the centaurs hate seeing horses used as beasts of burden.
