Ansin Sorro's Cabin

A house built by the Kingdom of Valencia for individuals hired to maintain that portion of the road way. The current owner is an individual by the name of Ansin Sorro, who lives in the home by himself.

Purpose / Function

The Kingdom of Valencia provides houses along the roadway to individuals who are paid to maintain portions of the road where the closest town would not be able to maintain the roadway. This particular house is provided to the primary caretaker of the roads around the primary western crossroads and is closer to local towns than most. In this case, Ansin Sorro's hut may be provided as it is relatively close to the border with the Kingdom of Tregon, providing a military and diplomatic purpose as well, though the Kingdom of Valencia would never admit it publicly.

Architecture

The building is small with only two rooms, a bedroom and a main room. Within the main room, visitors will find a small table with chairs, a desk, and a kitchen area. The outside of the building is more intricate. Built to stand the fierce nature of the woods, the main structure of the building is built of the strongest oakwood around, but has a classic log cabin appearance with logs stacked upon one another. To give the structure more strength, the bottom of the building is built with a stone foundation and cement meant to keep it in place. In the middle of the front of the home, travelers will see a chimney built of the same stone and concrete as the foundation and a door to the right of the chimney with stone steps leading to it. On the right side of the house, travelers will find a work station that appears to be meant for repairing the road with a variety of stones, wood planks, and tools that could be used for those repairs. On the left is a carriage that appears to be relatively unused, but capable of carrying large stones or the belongings of Ansin to travel to the capital. Behind the house is a small garden with fruits and vegetables to supplement the foods Ansin gets from nearby towns.

History

The house was built following the most recent war between Tregon and Valencia and is among the newer of the road repairer's houses.
