Balaire Mccraken, the seventh son of a seventh son of a well-establish and reasonably influence family in the northern woods, never expected to have to amount to anything. This was one of the true benefits of being the seventh son of a seventh son....all the required jobs were usually taken by the time you came around. Unfortunately, a series of highly unexpected and almost unbelievable tragedies resulted in Balarie being sent to join the Knights of Valor. A Knight from the Mccrakens has always served, and Balaire had better measure up. Used a quiet life of forestry, bardic enterprises and general handcrafty-ness, Balaire is bound to have a few adjustment issues; at least he can have his dog with him, right?

Never one to shirk from a good day's hard work, Balaire is not afraid to join the knights. He is after all, made of tough stuff. A little magic, a little moonshine, and a good deal of hard work--that's what makes the measure of a man. Other races? Doesn't care. A creature's value is in their work and their attitude. Is he totally worldly? That would be a huge no, but he's got a whole slew of basic survival skills that will sure to come in handy. Also, he sings. Not well, mind you, but with gumption.

Surprisingly well-educated for a "daftie northern woodsman," Balaire is very well read. He just doesn't go around talking about books and scrolls and math and stuff because that's weird. Do people in cities do that? What about working with your hands? That's a true education!
