Aspenhold
Demographics
Unusual for the mountains, few Fauns or live here, and those who trade here mostly do so directly with the guilds. There are fair numbers of Dogfolk, but the town has a very strong Human majority, and many of those from the three families who long ago founded the hold.
Government
The seat of Governer is traditionally passed among the founding families of Aspenhold. Though theoretically the Parliament could assign whomever they wish to the position, they have so far held to approving the successor suggested by the exiting Governer (and approved by the other families). Not only does this save them needing to find an acceptable replacement on their own, it keeps the peace, and the price down on Aspenhold's exports.
Industry & Trade
The primary industry in Aspenhold is Hunters Guild business--the sale and trade of meat, fur, and other products hunted in the surrounding areas, of course, but they also facilitate other exports. Artisan goods, preserves, and even fresh vegetables are sent along with the Guild caravan for sale in Albion or along the way. Finally, the caravan itself requires a good deal of supplies and provisions, which the Guild pays well for, knowing it will make up the cost and then some when the caravan reaches Albion.
Architecture
Most buildings in Aspenhold are built of wood, with dirt floors. The more affluent families' homes and the guildhall have stone floors and some stone walls as well; only the hold itself has a full stone exterior.
