Kunsby

Kunsby is the city farthest to the South and is near the sea. This is the city focused solely on the arts and importing goods from other nations. It is mainly underground but has a small dock town for welcoming traders and helping them transport their goods to Kunsby proper. Kunsby is almost more affluent than Konby due to the best artists in Dakor residing here. It is almost entirely lined with gold, very little silver is used. And gems are encrusted in almost all the walls and ceilings, with the majority being diamonds. The guards of Kunsby have to keep an eye on all foreigners who might be tempted to remove a diamond or two during their visit. No dwarf would do this because harming art is nearly unthinkable to them.     In Kunsby even the upper sections of the city are affluent. There is a larger military presence in Kunsby than Konby, but they are housed above ground near the docks so there is no need to keep any part of the city deprived of the best artistic works of the Dwarves. There is more silver at the top of the city than anywhere else. Kunsby is ruled by Malst Rutbro, who is viewed as the greatest painter of his time. In Kunsby the greatest artist is typically put in charge, but the King still has to approve of the choice. Malst is close friends with King Koise Griam and has been in charge of Kunsby for about 20 years now. Kunsby is by far the wealthiest city in Dakor due to all the beautiful art that is exported here. There is also sections of the city that have been expanded with materials from other nations. There is metal wood from Avalon, Diamond blocks from Ramar have been used to make sculptures, flooring, and walls of some homes, and some Vintas wood has been used to support other structures due to its mysterious magical strength.   Kunsby is smaller than Konby by over 150 feet down, which makes it about half as deep as Konby. This has made it easier to concentrate on the affluence of the city. Kunsby is the only city that travelers typically visit and has a large tourist business as well that focuses on showing of the artistic beauty of the city. Travelers are typically only allowed to stay in the upper levels and then are escorted down to see the wonders of Kunsby. Occasionally a traveler will be invited to stay in a Dwarf’s home for the extent of their stay. If this occurs the traveler is the sole responsibility of the Dwarf who has invited the traveler. It is viewed as a very high honor and should never be refused, nor should any misuse this privilege.   No food is produced in Kunsby. It is all imported from overseas or from Grotgard, where the majority of food is produced in Dakor. Kunsby provides Grotgard with the majority of its annual profits and is in a very good relationship with Grotgard. Kunsby will occasionally gift Grotgard with some famous works of art as Kunsby runs short on room for them.
