Konby

Konby is the capital of Dakor and holds the palace of King Koise Griam. The city is a massive underground structure that houses over 10000 dwarves. It is the epicenter of art in Dakor. The entire city is made with rare metals and diamonds. The other races frown on how gluttonous the dwarves are. Most the floors are made up of gold and silver patterns depicting historical events, famous heroes of the past, noble dwarves, different geographical locations, and the gods of the dwarves. Konby is quite overwhelming to those who have never visited before. Konby has the lowest class housed closest to the surface and becomes more affluent the deeper down you go. This was originally done so that if Konby was attacked the wealthiest sections would be attack only at the end of losing the city. Now those who live near the surface are looked down upon for they are normally unskilled at the arts and are warriors preparing to go off to the Kulta Vuoret. Underground rivers are irrigated down to every level of the city to give the dwarves access to water. The palace is said to have its own river to ensure that it always has clean access to water. Below the warrior level of Konby are the mushroom farms that supply the city with most of the food it needs. The upper class artists also have access to meat and other vegetables as well. The mushrooms are transported using a complex pulley system that raises and lowers gold floors to all the levels in Konby. Many find this to be a marvel of engineering, but to the dwarves it is nothing special. It is barely art in their eyes. There is almost no indication that there is a city below the surface in Dakor. There is a small cave opening that is guarded at all times from wild animals and those not welcome in the city. Konby does not allow those who flee from the Kulta war to return to their homes. They are viewed as truly worthless not only for abandoning their duty, but also for having no skill at the arts. Goblins and Orcs also navigate through Dakor and sometimes attempt to raid one of the cities. Konby is located near the center of Dakor about 50 miles south of the Kulta Vuoret. Their are underground tunnels built near the surface for quick transportation of supplies to the Kulta Vuoret and the other cities of Dakor. If a Dwarf wished he would never have to go on the surface, unless he was fighting in the Kulta war.
