Mercenaries Guild

The Mercenaries Guild is, as the name implies, a guild for those who wish to make their work fighting for coin. The guild's members are employed throughout the world as privately hired soldiers. This most often means security work such as protecting ships, caravans, or important peoples. Sometimes, this means working for a government trying to fill an emergency shortage of city guards, or even supplementing armies. On rare occasions, guild members have found themselves on opposite sides of the battlefield. It is part of every guild contract that a guild mercenary cannot be made to fight against another guild mercenary. Yet, if both mercenaries wish to fight in such a scenario, it is permitted. Whatever the result, fighting done during business should carry no grudges after the fact. True mercenaries understand the mercenary code, and know how to let go of such attachments.
