Gloves of the Pianist
Wondrous Item
Legendary Requires Attunement
While wearing this pair of finely made white cloth gloves, you gain proficiency with the piano Musical Instrument. If you already have proficiency, you gain expertise instead. If you already have expertise, you gain an additional +2 bonus. While wearing the gloves, you may use your bonus action to summon a shimmering, silver, translucent, illusory piano in front of you. The piano remains in front of you at all times, even as you move. When you press upon the illusory keys with your gloved fingers, they create sound and sensation as though you had pressed on a real piano key. Playing upon these illusory keys can be considered as utilizing a spell focus, even if you aren't a Bard. When you take damage from an attack and must roll a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on a spell you cast using these gloves, you may roll a Charisma (Performance) check in place of the Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on the spell. You may use these gloves to play any of the following songs, after which you must complete a long rest before you do so again. The spell save DC for song is either your spell save DC, or 14 (whichever is higher). Nightingale's Lullaby: This classic lullaby is known to many due to its simple melody, which is often hummed by mothers lulling their babies to sleep. Cast Sleep as a 4th level spell. If you finish the lullaby uninterrupted (by maintaining concentration on the spell for its full duration), targets slept by this spell enter a deep sleep, remaining asleep for 8 hours. Targets in deep sleep can only be awoken by taking damage, or by frequent shaking and prodding over the course of 1 minute. Waltz of the Planets No. 5 in F sharp minor: This deceptively complex waltz was often considered to be what inspired the great mage Otto to create the spell Otto’s Irresistible Dance, due to his inability to resist dancing himself whenever he heard it played. Cast the spell Otto’s Irresistible Dance. The duration of the spell becomes 10 minutes, which is how long the waltz is. If the spell was maintained for its full duration without breaking concentration, the target gains 2 levels of exhaustion at its conclusion, as the rigorous dancing drains it of energy. Sadya’s Envy Opt. A, in B flat major: This hour long concerto tells the story of Sadya’s yearning for Nepha, and the pain she feels that he does not want her despite being the most attractive of the goddesses. The piece later descends to darker tones as Sadya resents and envies her sister Castisandra, who has managed to catch Nepha’s eye. Cast Mass Suggestion. The duration of the spell is 1 hour, which is the length of the piece. If you complete the entire piece without interruption, the duration of the spell becomes 1 week as the effects of the charm linger. Overture from “The Lonely Logicmaster”: This overture is taken from the infamous play “The Lonely Logicmaster”, in which a powerful Logicmaster scholar finds out that for all his terrible arcane power, all he ever wanted was someone in which to share his world. In the opening act, the Logicmaster animates mundane objects to make himself feel less lonely. Cast the spell Animate Objects. Its duration becomes infinite, lasting for as long as you continue playing and maintaining concentration on the spell.
