Cook's Utensils

Ingredients

When in an appropriate setting, such as at a city or village market, you may buy Ingredients, which cost 1 gp and weigh 1 lb each. Ingredients are used in a variety of Cook's Utensils features.

Feast

(replaces Prepare Meals feature functionality)
Over the course of an hour, you may prepare a Feast for up to 10 creatures. For each creature affected, you must expend one Ingredient. Make a Cook's Utensils ability check, consulting the table below to determine the quality of the meal, and resultant temporary hit point gain for all creatures that partake in the Feast. Creatures that partake in the Feast are provided enough nourishment to sustain themselves the rest of the day.

Cook's Specialty

You know a number of specialties chosen from the list below. The amount of specialties you know is equal to your proficiency modifier with Cook's Utensils. When your proficiency modifier increases (through leveling, or by gaining expertise in Cook's Utensils), you may learn new specialties from the list. Your chosen specialties imply you have the additional cooking utensils and tools required to make those specialties. If you have an idea for a specialty type that isn't already present, it's encouraged you consult with the DM to create a new specialty to add to this list. Note that your specialties are not the only things you know how to cook, they are simply your areas of expertise.     Coffee
You may spend 10 minutes, and one Ingredient to brew a pot of coffee, which can serve up to 10 creatures and must be drunk immediately whilst it's still hot. Creatures that drink the coffee gain the Caffeinated condition for 8 hours. The Caffeinated condition increases your passive perception by 2, and grants a +2 bonus to all ability checks that rely upon extended vigilance or focus. Additionally, the condition grants advantage on any Constitution saving throw made to resist exhaustion due to lack of sleep.   Healthy Foods
You have a deeper understanding of healthy eating, using vegetables, fruits, and nuts to create a selection of body conscious options. You have a number of signature healthy dishes, whether they be salads, dried fruits, or specially seasoned chargrilled vegetables. You may spend 10 minutes to convert 1 Ingredient or 1 Natural Ingredient into 1 Healthy Food. When in the appropriate environment (such as most wilderness) you may spend a 1 hour foraging for Natural Ingredients, rolling a Wisdom (Survival) skill check at DC10. On a success, you manage to forage 1 Natural Ingredient, plus 1 additional Natural Ingredient for every 5 points the roll result exceeded the DC (2 at DC15, 3 at DC20, ect.). When you consume a Healthy Food, you gain the Healthy condition for 24 hours. Whenever you spend Hit Dice whilst the condition is active, each hit die spent recovers 1 additional hit point.   Protein
Key to any strongman or body builder's diet, you know how to prepare meats of various kinds to maximize heartiness. It costs 2 Ingredients to create 1 Meat, and you must spend 8 hours to do so (creating up to 5 Meats at once). This represents dehydrating, marinating, smoking, or whatever other signature process you use to prepare the protein. A creature can spend 1 minute eating the Meat to gain the Hearty condition for 8 hours. One time whilst the condition is active, the creature may choose to gain a 1d4 bonus to a Strength ability check or saving throw. Alternatively, they may gain a 1d4 bonus to the damage roll of a melee attack.   Spice
When using the Feast feature, you may choose to add your signature spice to the dish. When doing so, choose a spice level to apply to the Feast (as shown on the table below). All creatures that eat your Feast must make a Constitution saving throw against the Spicy DC (except yourself, who is accustomed to the cuisine). On a failure, they gain no temporary hit points from the meal (from both this feature or the Feast feature) as they are overwhelmed by the spice. On a success, they are jolted and invigorated by the spice, gaining additional temporary HP from the feast as listed on the table. Each time a creature succeeds against the save at the Hot or Authentic spice levels, they gain 1 spice resistance, and each time they fail the save they lose 1 spice resistance. Spice resistance reduces all Spicy DCs by 1 for each point they have. Upon reaching 5 spice resistance, the creature becomes fully accustomed to the spice, and no longer has to make Constitution saving throws to resist the spice.

Sweets
Sugary treats are among your best skills, whether they be baked treats, chocolates, candies, or more. You may spend a 1 hour to convert 1 Ingredient into 5 Sweets (which weigh 0.2 lbs each). Sweets can be eaten as an Action (or Bonus Action if stored in your Quickdraw slot), granting the Sugar High condition for 1 minute, granting a +1 bonus on all Dexterity ability checks or saving throws. After the condition ends, the creature gains the Sugar Crash condition for 1 minute. The Sugar Crash condition imposes a -2 penalty to all Dexterity ability checks and saving throws for the duration. The Sugar Crash condition can be nullified, and replaced by the Sugar High condition again by eating another sweet.   Tea
Ever the beverage of the wistful and wise, you have an especially good grasp of brewing tea, and likely have your own special concoction as well. You may spend 10 minutes and 1 Ingredient to steep a pot of your special recipe, which can serve up to 10 creatures, and must be drunk immediately whilst it's still hot. Those who partake gain the Serene condition for 1 hour. One time whilst the condition is active, the creature may choose to gain a 1d4 bonus to a Wisdom ability check or saving throw, which is decided before the roll is made.
