Ialdir the Sun
Ialdir
"Ialdir was the first and most potent god; the god of Light, Time, and Purity. When his wife, the goddess Aeda, died in the Third Era, he split and became both the god of Life and of Death. During the day, he was Ialdir the Sun, god of the sun. But at night, he remembered his wife's death and mourned, becoming Ialdir the Moon, god of death and mourning." - Excerpt from Gods of Rimor
"Ialdir's Light guide your path." - A common saying among travelers

Personal history
A boy once lived among the first men. Often, this boy would look towards the sky and marvel at the strength of the sun. For all his life, the boy had wanted nothing more than to fly to the sun and be completely happy. The boy asked his father how he could fly and be happy. "I do not know, son. Perhaps there are those who may know how to fly, but I do not." And so the boy resolved to travel and ask all those he could until he learned how to fly.
For many days and nights, the boy traveled, carrying money and food with him wherever he went so he could live in comfort. Many did not know the answer to his question, and so he continued onward. Day after day he asked people how to fly. And one day, he found someone who could answer. It was an old man old enough to have a white beard down to his knees. He said, "To fly, you must be light as a feather."
