Vlka is the eldest of many daughters (from many different mothers) of Thane Iskarl of the Clans of the Throat. Somehow she has evaded betrothal well into her mid-twenties, despite being a valuable political bride and sought by many suitors. She is the type of person who talks a little too much a little too loud in public, and her laugh can fill up a room and stop a dozen other conversations.
Vlka had a clandestine meeting with Ottar inwhich she hinted that she will be the true power behind the next Thane after her father dies, as her elder brother Juvyk "may be brave, but his ability to think and solve problems ends at the tip of his axe." Vlka also asked Ottar to contemplate what might become of Wrothgar's Godtrap after it is used to end the Wormborn Plague. She suggested that it should belong in the hands of people "with vision". As a sign of mutual trust (and possibly a demonstration of power) Vlka revealed that she has some magical talents...magical talents that are probably unknown to the Lodge Eldritch, as she did not use a Lodge Bone Talisman to focus the power, but rather killed a spider to summon the power in its blood. A heretic mage may be hiding in plain sight, right next to the throne in Thaneshall...
Unbeknownst to the Storm Eaters, Vlka was encountered in the eastern end of the God Grove by the motley band of beast men from the Howling Barrens known as the Brood Orphans. The Brood Orphans found Vlka to be consulting with a strange woman in the woods known as Lady Greenhat. Vlka also demonstrated the ability to become invisible using a magic ring.
