Trow

Trow, or Sea Trolls, are pack hunting predators that terrorize the coastlines and shallow waters of Valkheim. Normally encountered in small packs of a dozen or less, they will attack small vessels, pulling sailors into the water to devour them with their gaping maws full of razor-sharp teeth. Trow are ravenous beings, and the smell of blood on the water will often drive them into a frenzy to feed. They also wield large harpoon-like spears normally made from the bones of prey. On rare occasions several packs of Trow will gather into a small horde under a strong leader to attack coastal villages, coming ashore for a short time to drag dozens of victims back into the surf to be devoured alive if they don't drown first.

Trow are primitive creatures of low intelligence who maintain a stone-age level of culture and language use. They are sometimes manipulated into service, or even superstitious worship, by other cunning aquatic creatures of power and magic, such as sjora and fossegrim.
