Sysnk is a Raate swordsman with dark fur and startling blue eyes. He can magically transform his appearance, and often travels in the guise of a human warrior. He wields a great sword which sometimes blazes with strange blue energy when he strikes. He seems serious, poised, and utterly dedicated. He stated that the Lady of the Azure Cave is aware of the Storm Eater's quest, and sent Synsk to aid them. Synsk said it would shame him to the point of execution if he returned to his people without doing as the Lady of the Azure Cave asked of him. He said his people live near the Azure Cave and it is a ceremonial place of great importance to them.
Synsk joined the Storm Eaters in Thaneshall to accompany them on the Barak Tor (Blood Tower) quest and has proved to be a loyal and capable ally. Synsk has acquired many savage scars in his travels with the Storm Eaters, to include ruining one of his ears and maiming one of his hands.
In a dire battle with Germiir and Ana of the Traitors Three, Synsk called to his Lady and broke the magic sword Loretooth that she had gifted him as a final act of desperation. The ensuing blast devasted Germiir and nearly killed Synsk, but ultimately turned the tide of the battle.
After the Storm Eaters ended the third wormborn plague, Synsk revealed that his Lady of the Azure Cave is actually Greyja the goddess of magic. She sent him to aid the Storm Eaters in an attempt to ensure that dragons, her children, were not sacrificed to the god gash. After completing this quest, Synsk returned to his Lady and asked to be released from her service after succeeding in what she had asked him to do. Reluctantly the goddess released him from his oath to serve her. Synsk, joined by Bjargi, then traveled to southern Valkheim to aid the raate folk in their fight to survive the devastation of Veorfulnir the fire dragon.
