Svagnir
A calm, compassionate, and clever human from the Death Speaker Druid Clan, adorned in pale and black woad paint that gives him an unsettling appearance that is in stark contrast with his seemingly benevolent nature. Svagnir's left eye was ruined by the longsword of a man from Bjorksted, but the crafty druid was able to heal it with the help of Isulf. His left eye is now functional, but has the appearance of a crow's eye rather than a human's. Because of this he has been dubbed Svagnir "Dead Eye" by Aela Bloodkraken.
Svagnir is an Eater of Worms, with eyes that glint silver in the dark and blood as black as oil. He knows the secret ritual to creating more Eaters of Worms.
Svagnir carries an ornate water skein from which he draws his ghostly powers. Svagnir also possesses a magical horn that when blown grants strength to him and his allies, and carries the magical shield of his fallen friend Halstein.
Svagnir inhaled the Dragon's Last Breath, taking it from Janicka when she left the Storm Eaters to hunt with Eika. He now carries the power and memories of an insane dead dragon within him.
Svagnir revealed that his order has placed him on a quest to find the long lost race known as the Djorruk. Svagnir was told by Ana of the Traitor's Three that all the Djorruk were killed by Helka of the Lodge Eldritch in order to feed life force back into Valdryssil and end the Second Wormborn Plague. This of course assumes that Ana was not lying in order to win Svagnir's trust and loyalty to her cause.
Svagnir has grown fond of the young witch Mabd. Unfortunately, Mabd's cursed draconic heritage was triggered when she came into contact with the blood of the dragon Scalding Rain, transforming her into a dragon. Svagnir has sworn to Mabd that he will help her regain her humanity when his quest to end the Third Wormborn Plague is completed. Svagnir made a deal with Maeldun the hag, giving her a magical staff in exchange for the hag's promise to help protect and guide Mabd in her new dragon form. Who knows if Maeldun will be able to twist this deal with Svagnir to suit her own ambitions, as hags are apt to do. Svagnir learned that Mabd has been captured by the Lodge Eldritch (who knows what role Maeldun played in the event, if any) and they plan to sacrifice her to the god gash if the Storm Eaters fail in their quest to stop the Wormborn Plague.
Svagnir willingly gave his life to pass the dragon's breath into the god trap, but was brought back to life with a magical clay tablet gifted to him by the dwarven mastersmith Wrothgar. Upon regaining life, Svagnir was no longer an Eater of Worms, and is human again.
After the Storm Eaters completed their quest to end the third wyrmborn plague, Svagnir discovered a magical spell inscribed on a dragon's scale that could transform a person into a dragon for a short time...or permanently if done a particular way. Svagnir decided that instead of trying to find a way to return Mabd to her human form, he would transform himself into a dragon to be with her. With the help of Olav Farwalker, the only mage Svagnir trusted, the spell of transfomation was completed. Svagnir transformed into a mighty dragon with blue-black scales and ghostly white facial markings. He then traveled to the Elvish Gardens to find Mabd the She-Dragon. What became of the pair is unknown, but there are many tales among the folk of Hafrsted telling of a pair of fearsome dragons that haunt the ruins of the Elvish Gardens.
