Njalla

Njalla is a powerful sjora that roams the turbulent waters of the lake known as Roaring Cauldron. Like the lake she calls home Njalla is notoriously chaotic and tumultuous, her moods changing faster than sunlight reflected on windswept waters. She is fearlessly curious to the point of being a danger to herself and those around her. Despite Njalla's wild temperament, her magnetic fey nature has drawn other lake creatures in Roaring Cauldron to her. Swarms of poisonous lake eels and a small pack of Trow have come to worship her.

Recently, while curiously exploring the ruins of the ancient elvish gardens that lie mostly submerged beneath the waters of Roaring Cauldron, Njalla discovered the powerful artifact that once powered the gardens. In her reckless inquisitiveness she released this artifact, called the Anar'Hen by the elves, from its protective cask. The eldritch power of the Anar'Hen polluted the waters of Roaring Cauldron, affecting many of the inhabitants of the lake in strange ways. One of Njalla's lake eels was changed most exceptionally. Its hunger became endless, and each time it fed it grew. Soon it became too big for Njalla to keep in the submerged ruins of the elvish gardens, and she impulsively released it back into the open waters of Roaring Cauldron. Njalla named this ever-growing eel Squall. Squall continued to feed and to grow until it became a titanic sea serpent. Its hunger was so great that Njalla and her Trow dared not leave the safety of the submerged elvish gardens for fear of becoming its next meal. Trapped by the consequences of her own thoughtless curiosity, Njalla began to feed upon her own eels and her Trow began to feed upon themselves to avoid starvation.

When a group of adventurers seeking the Anar'Hen came to the sunken elvish gardens of Roaring Cauldron, Njalla struck a deal with them. In exchange for the Anar'Hen (which she had hidden in the depths of the sunken gardens), the adventurers promised to use their magic to free Njalla from the prison of her own making, taking her safely to the river which flows out of Roaring Cauldron.  The adventurers were true to their word and Njalla now roams the rivers and lakes of the Bloodstone Hills, free of the threat of Squall in Roaring Cauldron. What mischief the mercurial sjora will cause is yet to be seen...
