Mabd the She-Dragon

Mabd is the eldest daughter of Gretch (The Witch of the Ytre Woods) and an unknown man. Mabd was born in a place steeped in the power of dragon blood and magic, and this power has woven into her flesh and bones, granting her budding sorcerous talents and twisting her eyes into the shining green-gold eyes of a serpent. She is around 16 years old. She is tall and slender, with blonde hair and a poised posture. She wears the skins of wild creatures as clothing, which she adorns with the teeth and claws of beasts and monsters. She is soft spoken, brave, and sharp of mind.   Mabd appears to be a kind soul with a soft spot for the weak and defenseless (she once helped Ranvi Dirksdottir of Molde when lost in the Ytre Woods and is fiercely protective of her younger sister Lakka). Mabd's mother considered her more of a failure (Gretch was trying to give birth to a dragon, not a girl) than a daughter, and raised her without love as nothing more than the continuation of their family line. Mabd was conflicted by the death of her mother, as she did not care for the woman and her mad obsessions, but the witch was the only person Mabd had in the world at that time.   After being taken in by the Storm Eaters and treated with compassion for the first time in her life, Mabd quickly became attached to the group of adventurers, especially the kind-hearted Svagnir whom she has strong infatuation with. Mabd and Svagnir now share many heart-felt conversations and truly care for each other at a deep level.   Mabd's sorcerous powers appear to be growing rapidly, wielding new and more powerful spells as her adventures with the Storm Eaters continue. As her power grows, the effect of the draconic influence in her blood appears to spread as well, as a patch of gold-green scales now shimmer up the right side of her torso and neck.   Mabd decided not to become an Eater of Worms when given the option, stating that she wanted to deal with her draconic heritage before taking on a potentially new curse.   In an Ogn Troll cave lair a few days south of the Elvish Gardens, Mabd came into contact with some old, dried dragon's blood on a magical axe. Touching the blood caused Mabd to horrifically and painfully transform into a young dragon with green-gold scales and large golden eyes. In the shock of the transformation, Mabd lashed out at the Storm Eaters, wounding Svagnir gravely and killing the barbarian woman Jutta. But the Storm Eaters kept their heads and were able to calm the scared and hurting Mabd to the point where she gained a measure of control and stopped attacking. In shame and horror at what she had become and what she had done, Mabd fled from her companions, burrowing out of the caves and then taking to the skies, flying away.

Drawn by the irresistible lure of a massive amount of treasure, Mabd has claimed the lair and remaining hoard of the fallen dragon Scalding Rain located in the Elvish Gardens. In the process of claiming the lair, Mabd encountered the Storm Eaters departing. She professed her love for Svagnir and asked him to stay with her in the lair, as well as help her recover her humanity, if possible. Svagnir could not stay with her, as he was on a pressing quest to stop the Third Wormborn Plague, but the druid promised to return to Mabd once his quest was complete.   Following the end of the third wyrmborn plague, Mabd the She-Dragon was reunited with her beloved Svagnir, who had transformed himself into a dragon to be with her. Together the pair of wyrms are believed to lair in the ruins of the Elvish Gardens.
