Bjekmir Twice-Dead
Bjekmir is a blind and crippled warrior with silvery eyes that are far too old for him. He wields a magical hand axe named Storm Thief and names his horses a numbers based on how many horses he has owned before. His current steed is an old gray warhorse named "31".
Bjekmir revealed that he is one of the original Eaters of Worms, a group of warriors given an unnatural sentient existence between life and death by the god of death, Hrymm. He is over 230 years old, and fought the Wormborn in the Second Plague. He believes being an Eater is both a blessing of purpose, and a curse to bear. He is reluctant to make others into Eaters, and only does so if driven by necessity to stop the Wormborn.
Time has taken its toll on Bjekmir's mind, and he suffers from some form of dementia that comes and goes. In an recent episode of severe dementia Bjekmir was tricked into killing Arik the Bull of the Throat by Svagnir. This horrifying murder of a man unknown to Bjekmir seemed to be the tipping point that caused Bjekmir's fragile mind to collapse fully into his dementia. He has fallen into a comatose state.
Bjekmir loves a woman named Helka, who he claims is a sorceress in the Lodge Eldritch.
Bjekmir called out for a man named Robilar during some of his episodes.
The Storm Eaters encountered Bjekmir once more near the end of their quest in depths of the Lodge Eldritch. He appeared to no longer be living as his skin was rotting off his body, and he seemed to now be a sentient undead being of some sort. His mind and sight had been restored in the process, he was no longer an Eater of Worms, and he seemed to have limited autonomy. The Storm Eaters surmised that Helka (a necromancer by trade) had done this to him to return him to his senses. He referred to himself as Bjekmir Twice-Dead.
