He resented his younger brother's greater ability and leveraged their mother's dislike of his younger sibling to enlist her aid in driving the younger sibling away.
He carries on an open affair with his brother's estranged wife, having long since dropped the pretense that Callen's wife has any desire to be married to Callen for any reason beyond claiming some of Callen's fortune after his death.
