Jackavoag
Jackavoag (a.k.a. Duchess of Hags)
An archdevil reputed to be one of the progenitors of hags and the creator of the night hag. Highly powerful, Jackavoag aspired to godhood and legend has it that she perished in a failed attempt at apotheosis.

Jackavoag is a figure of legend. Her very existence outside of stories in in question. However, if stories about her are overblown, exaggerated or even pure invention, they likely have some roots in the origin of the hag and, particularly night hags

Jackavoag's legend tells that she lived in a partially subterranean stronghold encompassing the slopes of a mountain and the caverns beneath. The mountain was protected by rolling boulders that would fall on or block the path of anyone approaching the mountain. Within her stronghold, Jackavoag was reputed to rule over a network of covens. The covens mostly consisted of night hags, but had smaller numbers of hags of every variety.
