Flame Tongue Sword

A magical sword with a blazing blade, sometimes referred to as a "flame tongue," is a rare item. They are particularly useful against regenerating creatures (such as trolls and lycanthropes), flying creatures, inflammable monsters, and cold-based creatures (such as yetis and ice toads). When the command phrase for the flaming tongue is uttered, it erupts in flames and bright light. The arcane fire will continue to burn as long as the blade is not dropped or sheathed.
The flames will quickly consume paper, parchment, dry wood, and webs, and they can also ignite oils and other liquids.
These swords are made by fusing the Scorching Ray spell with one of the Fireball, Flame Strike, or Flame Blade spells, depending on the enchanter who creates the blade.
