Fataara
The thugs of the Fai Woods, fataara are burly,
humanoid fey the size of ogres, with wide eyes
and large tusks, horns, or antlers. Their muscular
bodies are covered in vividly colored hair, usually
red, blue, or green. Their hands are clawed, their
feet hoofed, and they decorate their bodies with
jewelry and battle trophies.
Fataara are usually found in raucous gangs, which
stalk and harass other fey, particularly hamanimi
and Fai goblins. They behave as little more than
bandits, often robbing their neighbors of their
treasures. When they tire of bullying other fey,
fataara are wont to turn their attention to mortals,
launching raids on remote villages and farmsteads.
Fataara fight with large, two-handed weapons,
such as falchions or maces, compensating for
a lack of finesse with sheer brute strength and
savagery. However, they are not merely bruisers.
Like all fey, they are magical creatures, and their
innate link to Vaala affords them limited but
effective spellcasting abilities in battle.
