Ibora

Ibora are sturdy, quadripedal beasts bred mainly by central-continential nations, especially the Reventine, for their milk, meat and fur.
The modern ibora is a domesticated breed of the wild ibora, also known as the tapal, native to the Revantine Evergrowth, to which it migrated from the Azurefall mountains to the north of the Revensteppes. While the tapal is a taller, more slender and agile animal with strong survival and fighting instincts, the ibora were bred to be much more docile and bulky, in order to provide more milk and meat to the now settled societies of the plains. However, one of the staples of the tapal was the unique and very sought after taste of its meat, which was all but lost during domestication, even though the breeders tried to retain it. To this end, the tapal is still very popular and hunted nearly to extinction by the wealthy elites, who consider the rare meat to be a luxurious delicacy.
Currently, ibora milk and meat constitute the majority of milk and meat consumed by the Reventines and herds are starting to appear in the surrounding countries as well, namely in the Laknia and Erusia provinces of Sarnios, where they slowly push out the traditional cattle, which provides less resources whilst requiring nearly the same amount of care and sustenance and also being less resilient to regional weather extremes.

Anatomy

Ibora roughly resemble the domestic yak, however, being descended from their wild, more deer-like tapal cousins, they have several characteristics that make them visually somewhat a combination of the two. Whilst their wide back, bulky body with long hair and docile behavior are reminiscent of bovines, their legs are longer, yet still sturdy and their necks are raised higher than those of cattle, although not as high as wild deer or tapal.
Their heads are adorned with horns that split into several endings, a visible degradation of the tapal's antler-like horn structure and their feet are a softened, flattened version of the tapal's three-fingered paws.
