Maleficus

Necrid's Holy Weapon

A mace forged by the Half-Orc blacksmith Greel Irontusk for Necrid as reward for returning a lost statue of Mrulf the Hardy. The mace was crafted to represent the duality within Necrid: his dedication to the Los, Goddess of the Sun, and his inherited ties to the Orc patron Gruumsh. It features a sturdy handle with a curved spike at the tip (a typical orcish flourish), a sturdy spiralised shaft with the engraving 'Might of Gruumsh, Light of Los', and a segmented mace head in the stylized design of a sun. The mace was delivered to Necrid in Pioneer's Stride, and unwrapped in the Scarlett Trees, where it was christened Maleficus.

This weapon was later blessed by Los herself after Necrid had a brief but vivid encounter with the deity at God's Peak. Infused with her light, the weapon would now deal additional radiant damage.
