Fabricators and Fabricator Networks

Fabricators are a type of AI who roam the supercluster terraforming and ultraforming worlds, and manufacturing orbital infrastructure. They're essentially Von Neumann probes that pave the road to intergalactic colonisation, allowing humans and other AI to occupy the star systems they prepare for habitation. Some Fabricator Networks have been working unsupervised and unregulated for millions of years.

Structure

A Fabricator Network is a type of hive mind in which all affiliated AI have a say. Despite this, most major decisions such as which star system is next on the conversion list are made by the Primary Coordinator. If a large enough group of Fabricators disagree with the Primary Coordinator's decisions, they will often break away and construct a new Network in which they build a new Coordinator with a psychology more akin to their own wishes.

Public Agenda

The only goals of a Fabricator Network are to self replicate, and convert uninhabited or destroyed star systems into habitable ones.
