V2 rocket family

The V2 rocket was the first successful attempt at rocketry in history of humankind. It was developed by Germany during World War 2 and would set the basics for rocketry and ballistic missiles in the future.  

Predecessor: The V1

  Initial development stages would later be known as V1 rockets after the war, but in Germany they would each receive an identification tag that varied depending on the developmental advances made from previous attempt. These initial stages had a very rudimental stabilization system, as well as a prototype of a jet engine that would later be adapted into the aviation sector, and were extremely inaccurate and low-range.   Second batch of experimental prototypes featured a very early rocket engine, as well as some basic stabilization features suck as a set of fins near the engine. The prototype also lacked enough range to reach areas too far away from the launching site, as well as manouverability to precisely impact near the desired target.   The third set of rockets were made larger and the engine was slowly upgraded to be more efficient and have a higher power output. However, even though the range was improved significantly, the rocket now lacked enough destructive power, reason why the fourth batch would be made even larger. They were the last units from the V1 family.  

The V2 rocket

  The fourth batch would be known as the V2 rockets. They were not guided manually, but instead programmed before launch. These rockets would see usage in the battlefield soon after a couple attempts poduced satistactory results.

The rocket did not have tendency to form ice, as the material used to build the (propellant and oxygen) tanks was an excelent insulator German scientist, unknown, 1948.
