The Three Roman Eagles
The Three Roman Eagles are a series of three silver small statues resembling what is believed to be a Common European Condor, all of which have been found in the new world.
Background
During ancient times, it was believed by many European civilizations that the only lawful way of claiming land, was to mark the land as property of the state that claims it, sometimes by painting a symbol or icon of said state, sometimes by building a monolith or small structure that showed its new owner, or is some cultures it was also believes that small artifacts could be left in the area without any clues of their location. This last scenario was shared by Vikings, Romans, Ancient Greeks and even Persians. The idea consists on leaving a small statue or piece of art unique to a civilization, which, if found by other civilization in the future, would make the land near the object a lawful claim of the civilization who crafted the artifact. Because of this, artifacts crafted by the Roman Empire such as small eagles, characteristical Roman swords, Roman shield replicas or small undetailed statues of Roman Gods have been found in central Africa, northern Europe, and the Middle east. However, there have been three times in history when statues strangely similar to those Romans made were found in the new world, eventually being called the Three Roman Eagles.Theories
The Three Roman Eagles are three small statues that were found between the 19th and 20th centuries in America and Vesperia, all having similar features to a lot of statues found near Rome. This, together with some documents found in southern Iberia in 1901 in which an anonymous Roman sailor described tropical winds, has created the possibility of Romans reaching America, not one, but several times, and every time arriving in very different places. The three statues are on the National Colombian Museum of La Guaira, National Museum of Concordian History in Newsville, and National Museum of Guyanese History in Angostura.Credits: Top Image: Eagle head - Tom & Judy Maier - https://www.pinterest.fr/pin/420664421419165371/
