National Yudonian Organization for Transport

Officially named NJOT, the Organization is the responsible for the construction, maintenance, reparation and the improvement of new and already existent transport structures and infrastructure around the country. This includes all roadways, railways, transit networks, airports, heliports, train stations and ports of the country. The company is also in change of tolls, ticket prices and customer assistance, having a decent income which would ultimately go into generating a great reputation, a magnificent staff, and one of the best transport networks of Europe.   The company itself is what the Yudonian law considers as a "semi-public for-profit organization", which consists, as its name says, on a semi-governmentally-owned company that can consider itself independent from the state that has to still pay taxes while focusing on expanding and growing with a basically limitless autonomy from the state.   NJOT itself has won many nicks by the civilian population throughout the years, having been a center point for many corruption cases since its creation in 1940, but after many efforts by political parties and local governments to eliminate corruption in the company, NJOT would go on to lead international stats for the best transport company and would ultimately win prizes on the last few decades, like the European Contact Centre and Customer Service Awards (ECCCSA) for the Most Effective Digital Customer Experience in 2018 and the CCA Excellence Award for Excellence in Social Responsibility & Awareness in 2019.

Background History:

The company itself wouldn't be created up until year 1982, when it would be used often for politicians and other private companies to get dirty money through corruption and multi-billion Euro contracts.   Through the years it would gain itself a very bad reputation, until it was completely remade from start by the government of Felina Santz in 1993. During its darker period, since its creation until the late 1990's, the company would act as a public gubernamental organization that would serve to finance other government's projects, to delay the pay of the national debt, and to employ uneducated people while still offering an absolutely terrifying client service, but as the inner corruption and washed money started to be eliminated from the company, it started to grow and grow as an almost completely private-owned corporation of transport.   From there, and with some extra help of later governments, the company would gain autonomy and freedom to use their money to expand and improve in many aspects instead of being the moneybag of many failed government's projects. The company would be given 55% of its stock shares and would become a major in what was called as the Yudonian Transport Revolution, when many transport companies appeared and the railway became the main way of getting around the country and even in cities themselves, and while other countries were suffering from the 2008 crisis, the autarky that was accomplished saved Yudonia from a dark decade, not without signs of a declining economy, but with a lot smaller of a crisis than it should have been.   Most of the work was already done, but as the decade of the 2010's arrived was that the company stablished itself first on many rankings across the globe as one of the best companies in terms of efficiency, technology usage and reliable timings and no overbooked travels, and its reputation amongst the population increased dramatically, having more travelers than any other public owned transport company from and in Yudonia.   The company would end up year 2019 with a net benefit of almost one and a half billion Euros, with a grand total of almost 40 billion euros as total benefit, most of which would go to pay their almost 200,000 employees.

Affiliated companies:

  • RTJ ("Rapid Trens do Judonia", a nation-wide high speed railway company)
  • ETN ("Eco Trens Natsionals", a mostly regional train company operating eco-friendly engines and vehicles
  • PANAM Airways (Pan American World Airways was a company which almost collapsed in the early 1990's. It would be bought in 2001 by the National Yudonian Organization for Transport (NJOT) to later reenter the market.)
  • WOW Air (Originally a low-cost Icelandic International Airline bought by NJOT with the help of the central government as it was about to go bankrupt in early 2019.)
  • Monarch Airlines (A former British-based airline which almost went bankrupt in late 2018 but was bought by the NJOT as WOW was.)

  • Some other smaller subway systems like: Metro Noalicant
  • AAJTT (The company in charge of inner-airport trains and buses from all around Yudonia)

  •

    Biggest Projects to date:

During the dawn of the 21st century, the company sat down to plan their projects for the next decade. The central government had already put a lot of pressure over the company to create some challenging projects, but the company would ultimately deliver what they were asked for, managing to impress even the biggest railways countries like Japan with some of their engineering achievements.
    • The Two Point Bridge: Originally thought as an impossible project, the city of Plavit saw the construction of the 2 Point Bridge by year 2008. It was a feat of engineering by itself, not because of the deepness of the water underneath, or the strong winds that blew day and night against it, or even the massive waves that came from the south Mediterranean at high tide, well probably for those too, but mainly because of the seemingly infinite distance the bridge would have to cover with no pillars underneath. The bridge today stands as the pride of the city with a total of almost 420 meters high and 3.6 kilometers long, with capacity for 3 two-way lines of traffic, 2 one-way train connections, and 2 one-way regional train connection as well.

    • National Highway 17: Today a vital part of Yudonian roadways, NH17 is the northernmost roadway of the island of Isola, connecting the Mareno area with the swampy lands at the east of Natro, another big city of the island. The terrain it goes through is mountainous, swampy, very crowded with all kinds of trees and endemic species, and enormous cliffs, similar to those in the western part of Norway but without the snowy part.

    • Metro of Plavit: On year 1999 Plavit's Subway System counted with only 4 small and city-center-based lines, transporting no more than a couple hundred thousand passengers a year, but, after a heavy intervention by the NJOT, the system would end 2018 with a total of 20 subway lines and more than 150 bus lines, connecting the huge metropolis and its metropolitan area by train, and transporting a total average of 3 million people each day.

    • PANAM Airways: A company whose end was imminent by 1988 would finally see its end on 1991, when its debt had raised to a couple multi million dollars. It would be the first almost-dead airline to be bought by the NJOT, finally reentering service by 1998 under NJOT Administration, and with a new almost exclusively B747 fleet. Nowadays, the company prevented the creation of many smaller US-Based transatlantic airlines, as it raised customer expectation specially in the east coast, with its comfortable and wide seats, cheap tickets, and good client service, only having one accident since its reopening in 1998, caused by a misinformation trouble between air traffic controllers at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on 2009.

After the success of the project, other companies would be successfully "revived" by the NJOT throughout the years, including the famous Icelandic WOW Air, the British Monarch Airlines, and some other minor companies around the world.
