Uriah Zivan, cloud giant eunuch high priest

In the cloud giant city of Dannelheim, high up in the Montaines, sat a warrior-king on his throne. In his ear whispered an evil advisor. The warrior-king lapped up the words with eagerness. She mentioned the conniving ways of their enemies, and spoke of subterfuge. The warrior-king stroked his beard, naked blade in his lap, nodding maliciously, a keen fire burning deep in his eyes. He ordered the army to move out after some formalities and rites were observed at the temple. A messenger arrived at the local temple of Annam, further up the mountain. The messenger reached the high priest and delivered the request for ceremonies. All proper rites were ready and favor was expected, yet the high priest hesitated.   Uriah Zivan sighed, his thin, long mustache wafting on his breath. He knew the tempestuous nature of his king and chief advisor. He greedily fought for honor and power; she desired to be remembered in the annals of history as the greatest tactician and advisor to the cloud giants. He knew this was foolhardy, and Annam also saw this. He told the messenger to entertain himself in the grand plaza while he communed.   In his closet he prayed to Annam, asking for guidance during yet again another time of avoidable war. He foresaw the bloodshed that would have wracked the beloved state. Annam granted him peace, again. He soothed himself with hymns praising Annam, Othea, and Stronmaus.   He came back to the messenger. With a sad smile he informed him he cannot perform the rites and gain the favor of Stronmaus and Annam. Infuriated, the messenger stormed off. He sighed again. He knew the warrior-king and his wicked advisor would continue anyway, so he sent out specific letters to the gate captains and barracks sergeants. The letters request their services urgently. In the state of Dannelheim, no request from high clergy may be refused, and it is considered a great honor to be selected for rites directly from the priest.   Just as the captains and sergeants received orders to mobilize and move out with their armies and defenses from the advisor, the humble letters of Uriah reached them. Their mouths hung agape. How could one deny the high priest? All but one accepted the calling. Letters also arrived at the warrior-king and advisor, but they refused to open them. It was a ritual day for Annam and the next week was Stronmaus's holy week. Uriah requested them to attend for the sake of the people's favor. When they did not attend, he was not shocked, but knew they could not mobilize wholly without the missing leaders.   As intended, the warrior-king and advisor were unable to muster enough soldiers to even pose a threat. They consented to Uriah's summons and arrived hours before the holy week commenced. Relieved of their answering, Uriah commenced the ceremony without a hitch. All had a great time, and Uriah was able to keep the peace just one more day. His settlement of thousands of gold from his personal treasury to the rival state helped too, he supposed.
