Kheer Mallidan Building / Landmark in Uto Daeg | World Anvil

Kheer Mallidan

Set in the eponymous fortress is the Grafters guildhall. The Grafters are an order of farmers and naturalists and arcanists insistent on bettering agriculture. The old inhabitants used this as a fortress to protect the rich farmlands of Plateau Tallibab. The order has since been disbanded, but the Grafters took up residence and provide services from loans to farmers to hosting markets of goods and wares. It is a cultural icon and what immediately comes to mind when Baabs think of the Red Cliff region.

Purpose / Function

Protected the lowlands around Ffolken Point from invasion. Now it serves as headquarters to the Grafters.

Alterations

Once the fortress fell into disarray, the Grafters took over and began updating it. They replaced doors, glass windows, etc.

Architecture

Straight lines with inverted curves towards the intersections. Hexagonal pillars to resemble the basalt of northern Tallibab. It has several walls and a few distinct layers of walls. The outer wall extends to the cliffs themselves. The second surrounds the moat. The third surrounds the keep itself. Multiple guard towers interrupt the smooth, tan and red sloped walls. From a distance the fortress appears squatting on the edge of the cliffs, ready to pounce on any who dare come close.

History

Was once the home to a large reserve of soldiers always looking out for invasions into the fertile plateau above Red Cliffs. The oxygenated fields provided a fertile lands and the lack of much geography cover left much of western Tallibab exposed to invasion. Indeed, several times many ships landed at Ffolken Point only to be rebuffed from the standing army in the the Kheer Mallidan.

Tourism

Some tourism occurs, though no much since it is mostly for guild meetings. The most non-guild visitors are when the Grafters host a market to sell their best, or some crop festivals of the season.
