Josquin de Morria

"Emerging from the tree is a tall, fat human man with a thick brown beard and flowing loose tresses. Despite his unassuming clothing - a thick woolen turtleneck under a fur coat to stave off the chill - he radiates a presence not unlike an owlbear. Josquin de Morria’s amber eyes - once exasperated yet full of warmth - have taken on a particular hardness to them."


Josquin de Morria is the current Lord Mayor of Morelle and the head of two Tempestus branches (Morelle and Port Lydia). He is the sole figure keeping the Lydian bayou druids from abandoning their duties in the Necropolitan Arboretum. He is one of the few direct proteges of the current reigning Archdruid Squall Uhrheart. Even-tempered and pragmatic, Josquin tends to choose his words carefully in case indicting information makes its way back to the Eastern Kingdom. Rarely leaves the Arboretum while in the Occidental Kingdom. He was forced to permanently relocate to Morelle after the Rose’s takeover of Port Lydia, and has since been delegated the task of investigating the railroad with three other druids.

War Caster. Josquin has advantage on Constitution saving throws made to maintain concentration. In addition, when creatures provoke an attack of opportunity, Josquin can cast a spell in lieu of making a weapon attack.

Actions

Symbiotic Entity (1x/short rest). As an action, Josquin invokes his symbiotic entity form. He gains 40 temporary hit points and his melee weapon attacks deal an additional 1d6 necrotic damage. He is also able to utilize his Halo of Spores and Spreading Spores features. If Josquin loses all of his temporary hit points or dismisses it with a bonus action, the form ends.

Scimitar. 1d20+7 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 11 ( 1d6+3 slashing + 1d10 necrotic)

Bonus Actions

Spreading Spores. While Josquin's symbiotic entity form is active, he can hurl spores up to 30 feet away with a bonus action. At a point within range, they swirl in a 10-foot cube for 1 minute. When a creature starts its turn or moves into the cube, the creature must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. Upon a failure, the creature takes 1d8 necrotic damage.

Reactions

Halo of Spores. While Josquin's symbiotic form is active, he radiates a 10 foot fungal aura. When a creature starts its turn or moves within 10 feet of Josquin, they must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. Upon a failure, the creature takes 1d8 necrotic damage.
