Brackenroot
"Its bitter and smoky flavor assaults the senses, yet the unfortunately rare Brackenroot is able to cleanse the body of disease and soothe the voice. Some rumor that it can even stop death in its tracks, though none have tried to verify it."

Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
Brackenroot - although named as if it were a true root vegetable or plant - is technically a fungus that grows primarily in areas with high rates of fungal growth or areas that are predominantly brackish wetland. Thus, it was no surprise to anyone when Brackenroot was first discovered in the Dreadnaught Swamp and various Academy Druids unravelled its inner mysteries.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Brackenroot primarily feeds off of the Ley energy stemming from the Elemental Plane of Water. In the two Uthilithian points that it's found, it's along that particular ley line that runs laterally across the world.
Otherwise, Brackenroot is quite self-sufficient (despite lacking the photosynthesis of a plant). It draws nutrients from brackish and fresh waters.
